Advent is nearly here so we've included our Super Food Fight Top Tips on how to stay healthy in

Only 26 days 'til Christmas!

Tomorrow will you be bringing out your advent calendar? If so you can expect a naughty but nice treat once a day for the next few weeks. While Christmas, and all the lovely treats are just around the corner, you need to make sure to get some healthy fruit, veg and a bit of balance into that diet of chocolate coins and ginger bread houses. By following our tips below on how to stay healthy in the run up to 'the big day' you can make sure you don't look like Santa by the new year:

1. Add good foods to your Christmas fatty favourites

Ditch the sausage rolls and cocktail sausages and swap them for carrot sticks and cherry tomatoes, (not likely!). Make sure you enjoy the healthy super foods like carrots, apples and sweetcorn alongside the pastries and fatty foods on offer to stay happy, healthy and bright this Christmas.

2. Swap the fried chicken for oven baked chicken drumsticks

If you look around there are, almost always, healthier choices to be found. If you can avoid the masses of tins of branded milk chocolates and opt instead for delicious chunks of dark chocolate, you won’t just be reducing your sugar intake, but you’ll benefit from important vitamins and minerals you didn't get the year before.

Yes, dark chocolate is actually good for you! Choc Chunk is a favourite character in our Emma Bright and The Super Food Fight book.

You can read it for yourself and find out why we love him so much by ordering your own copy on www.thesuperfoodfight.co.uk for only £4.99.

(I can recommend it!)

3. Keep active

Balance your time between watching Christmas movies with moving!

If you have a fitness routine, try and stick to it, especially on those days when you’re at home.

A daily walk or 30 minutes of exercise will help to prevent your digestive system from becoming sluggish. Not only will exercise help you to work off the extra calories, but it’s great for your mood, and getting rid of that awful feeling from spending too much time indoors doing nothing or on your mobile phone - (boring!)

4. Have you been bad or good?

Ask Santa for some healthy toys to play with outdoors. When you're putting together your Christmas list think about what would help to keep you healthy. Last year I got a bike to go for long rides with my family throughout the year, and I know my sisters would love roller skates, trainers, ice skates, scooters, a football and so much more.

I celebrate my birthday on Christmas Eve so I have to wait all year and then everything comes at once, if I'm lucky, so I always make sure I ask for presents for the summer months from Santa!

5. Remember our message about balance and choice

Recap on our Emma Bright and The Super Food Fight story and the mystery in the amazing place called Plenty. If you haven't read it ask Santa for a copy. Send us a message and we will personalise your book if ordered in time for Christmas delivery, before 18th December.

Most importantly - enjoy your festive feasts!

Love from Emma
